So... Who here has experience with Heartbeat (Linux-HA)?

I'm doing something where I have the following IP's:

192.168.1.5 fs
192.168.1.41 fs1
192.168.1.42 fs2

The idea is the fs1 and fs2 are real hosts, and fs just floats between the two. If the current fs goes down, the other one assumes the role.

I have a script that does this wonderfully, but it is ping based. The problem with ping based is that the OS might crash, but the ethernet card might still be alive responding to pings.

The answer I've been told is Heartbeat. But the link on their official page to the documentation is broken, and the other documentation I've seen is weak at best and does not cover me needs.

Anyone know how to do what I want and willing to pass on any example, or know of a site with good heartbeat docs?
