Speakers have come a long way in the last few years, namely the small speakers we use on our pc's. It's amazing how much bass can be packed into such tiny packages. But I wonder if the search for bass has gone to far. Take these Cambridge Soundworks speakers on my desk for example. These speakers have, if anything too much bass. Even when I have the bass turned all the way down it's almost over powering the treble, and it has almost no midrange. I love bass as much as the next person, but I would like a full spectrum of sound, and I wanted balanced to a can here the thump of the bass guitar, the treble of the snare drum, and the midrange of the vocals. I don't think this is an odd request, and I'm suprised reputable speaker makers would make speakers for general listening so biased toward one end of the sound spectrum.
