And owl can turn it's head about 270 degrees. If you were to try this, besides breaking your neck, you would pinch off you carotid artery's and block the blood flow to your brain. An owl deals with this by having a second set of carotid artery's that unpinch when they turn their head so they keep a flow of blood going to their head.

Have you ever noticed how owls always seem to rapidly turn their head and then pause, and don't seem to slowly track things?

I can only imagine what that must be like...
