At 1205 PM PDT National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a large area of heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms over northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. Some of these showers have the capability of dropping rain at the rate of 1 inch per hour...and some isolated locations have already reported over an inch of rain so far this morning. The embedded isolated thunderstorms also have the possibility of producing very small hail...extremely deadly lightning...as well as producing short lived funnel clouds. Expect these showers to continue through the afternoon and create ponding of water on roadways...as well as sharp rises on smaller creeks and streams in the area. Motorists are urged to slow down...not only due to deeper water on roadways...but also due to slippery Road conditions from accumulated oil buildup from the long period of dry weather.
Damn, it's nice to have some weather again!!! :-)
