Now Rann the Kite brings home the night
That Mang the Bat sets free--
The herds are shut in byre and hut
For loosed till dawn are we.
This is the hour of pride and power,
Talon and tush and claw.
Oh, hear the call!--Good hunting all
That keep the Jungle Law!
Night-Song in the Jungle
In other news, looking for ideas of stuff to print and glue onto journals, I have revisited Project Gutenberg. For those of you who don't know, Project Gutenberg is an effort to take as many uncopyrighted books as possible and type them up and put them online for free. I noticed there are a few explorers journals from the 1800's and adventure related books like Kiplings The Jungle Book are on there. I was thinking aged images with faded journal enteries of Kipling poems faintly overlaying them might look nice glued on to the front of Moleskine journals.
Speaking of which, how are the journals I gave people holding up? The glue still good? the image surface holding up? Any comments? Suggestions?
