With the huge amount of police brutality yesterday, I had an idea to combat it. When you see the police beating someone, call 911. Describe the police officer and the location and the person being beaten. This will tie up resources, as the police chase their own, and will create a permenate record of the police brutality. I don't think it would be illegal to use 911 to report the violence, but if you are worried about it, call from a pay phone.

I just want to reiterate a nother problem I have with statements our government has made. This is a minor issue compared to may of the other larger issues around the war, but it's irritating me...

I support our troops, but I do not support our president. I do not hold our solders accountable. I do believe they are following orders and doing what they feel they need to do. I hold the war planners and policy makers liable for all the civilian casualties and the costs of this war. And I am comfortable with this. Like wise, I hold Saddam responsable for his decisions in the past. But, we are expected to support our troops as they are pawns in this effort. But Bush has said that Iraqi soldiers are "responsable for thier actions and should surrender." What the fuck? One set of foot soldiers are to be blindly supported and not responsable for their actions, and yet the other soldiers are evil and are to be lead responsable?

Sorry, they are foot soldiers, pawn, on both sides. They are following orders. If they are fighting each other, that is accepted by the rules of war. If they kill civilians and rape women or do other such actions, then the soldiers are responsable for their actions.

There is a lot of greyt area there, but I has problems with saying ourside is absolved of all responsablity for their actions, but the other side is to be held accountable for all their actions. I know lifes not fair, but that's fucked up.
