Okay, my feet are a little tender at the momment. During the 6 mile hike through Forest Park this morning I discovered my hiking socks are over due for being replaced.

In other news, I am currently migrating my image archive to coppermine. Coppermine ROCKS!!! Uploading images is slow, as it has to resize the images, but viewing is uber fast, is allows for accounts, groups, and private folders, with the DB being searchable from the image description, plus people can leave comments and rate the images. I think I'm in love. :-)

And soon I will have my archive available to the world again, sort of. I need to open a hole in our firewall to let port 80 reach my box. That is the easy part. The hard part is the IP is dynamic, meaning it changes periodically. So I will need to regularly publish the current address. And links to images in the db will only work for limited amounts of time.

The other down side is I'm on a cable modem, so it's not that fast for outgoing traffic. So, when I put an image on my lj I will still put them on comcast's webserver, so my conection is not flooded. The idea being, the very few people who might be interested at looking at my other pictures can look on the gallery on my homesystem (via the much slower cable modem).

And those of you whom I have pictures of naked, having sex, or doing questionable things, I will endevour to keep those private.

Minus the pictures on my camera of the hike today, I have taken 4,202 pictures so far this year. Two days to get one year on coppermine. There has to be a faster way. Part of the problem is I name the folders after the date I dl'd the pictures, and I had 102 folders.
