Ugh! Qwest, how you torture me!!!

I put my book down and went to be about midnight. At 3:14am (Pi?) I get paged that the systems are down. I try to check remotely, no luck. So I drive down and everything on our side seems fine. I sit on hold with Qwest for an hour, and they don't answer till right when it starts working. Why can't they include "known outages" in their hold info? Also, a fair number of sysadmins have worked tech support at some point in their lives. We know exactly what it means when the hold music stops, you hear the ring tone, and then the music starts again. It means someone is there and ignoring my fucking call.

Just because soshesays likes to brag about her CPR skills... ;)

Two hillbillies walk into a bar. While having a shot of whiskey, they talk about their moonshine operation. Suddenly, a woman at a nearby table, who is eating a sandwich, begins to cough. After a minute or so, it becomes apparent that she is in real distress.

One of the hillbillies looks at her and says "kin ya swallar?" The woman shakes her head no. "Kin ya breath?" The woman begins to turn blue and shakes her head no.

The hillbilly walks over to the woman, lifts up the back of her dress, yanks down her drawers and quickly gives her right butt cheek a lick with his tongue. The woman is so shocked that she has a violent spasm and the obstruction flies out of her mouth. As she begins to breath again, the hillbilly walks slowly back to the bar.

His partner says "ya know, I'd heerd of that there "Hind Lick Maneuver, but I ain't never seed nobody do it."

Hmmm... Now we know the truth about her life saving skills? ;)

I was watching a couple pictures print, and I never before noticed how much the paper swells for the ink. I', looking across the print with the light from a window shining across it, and the dark areas definately stand taller than the light areas. It would be cool to have a printer with a clear ink just for creating texture.

From pushshove:

  1. When are you going to move to Seattle?
As soon as I have a job up there that will support my lavish lifestyle. Either that or lot's of lovin' when I get there.

  2. Name five great albums I haven't heard.
Hmmm... My tastes don't mesh with most people, but here we go...:

    1. Aftershock by Aphrodite. Some of the best DnB ever!
    2. Alices Resturant by Arlo Gutherie. You've probably heard it, but with the impending draft, it's good to listen too again.
    3. Outernational Sound by Theivery Corporation. I have loved everything I've heard from this group.
    4. The Five Boroughs by The Beasty Boys. License To Ill will always be my favorite of theirs, but this is a very close second.
    5. Contraband by Velvet Revolver. Who can say "no" to Scott Weiland, even if he is starting to look like the lead singer to Judas Priest?

  3. What do you miss about California?
People attitudes. There everyone was up for everything, and willing to meet new people and do new things. Portland is all about it's little sub-genre cliques, and for it's claims of tolerance, it is very close minded. Everyday I'm here, I feel like I'm turning back into a "Portlander," and that scares me.

  4. If you could change one thing retroactively about Cesspool, what would it be?
Either better management of my money and/or hiring a maid.

  5. Whats your favorite distribution of Linux and WHY? :P
Red Hat has always had a special place in my heart.

  1. Leave a comment, saying you want to be interviewed.
  2. I will respond; I'll ask you five questions.
  3. You'll update YOUR journal with my five questions, and your five answers.
  4. You'll include this explanation.
  5. You'll ask other people five questions when they want to be interviewed
