Let's discuss the future for the moment...
NASA has been developing, in the interest for going to Mars, the ability to grow meat in vats.
How will this change the world, if meat is grown in vats? What happens to the species of animals we have grown for meat so long that they can not live without or our aid? Are there medical uses, like if a solder gets a portion of there thigh blown off, can the muscle be replaced instead of hoping it grows back? What sort of tinkering will go on to make custom or gourmet meats? Will people contract with Zoos and game preserves (and poachers) to get samples of endangered species for the sake of haveing Panda ribs or a Rhino steak? As no animals are killed in the process, you just need a few starter cells of a kind of meat and you can grow it into slabs, does this mean those who are curious about how human flesh tastes will be able to indulge themselves? (Soylent Green!!!)
Thoughts? Ideas? Concerns? Hopes? Recipes?
I can load my page. I can not load my friends page. I get the following error:

This means one of you broke LiveJournal. I am holding you personally responsable, who ever you are. :-P
In the last month, either directly or indirectly on my friends list there have been 5 deaths. I've seen a lot of beautiful eulogies and an out pouring of greif and love. While the eulogies mean a lot, I ask that you tell the people around you how you feel about them right now. Not tomrrow, not next week. Right now. The fact of the matter if you or they could get hit by a car tomorrow, or have something else happen. Don't wonder if they knew how you felt, or if you knew how they really felt. Just tell them.
If you want to say someone anoynously, you can comment anoynously here, with a who it is too (either and LJ or e-mail address), and I will try to make sure they see it. It's better if they know who it's from, but anonymous is better than them not knowing.
