Now for the New Orleans finger pointing blame game...

It has been for noted for years that New Orleans was a city at risk. They were awarded federal funding to improve the dykes and the pumps to keep New Orlens safe. But in 2003 (under Bush's reign), the funding was cut.

So, could the lives and property been saved if the upgrades could have continued? Is Bush's administration ultimately culpable in the flooding and loss of life due to the levees breaking?

One more sign I'm going to hell...

As hurricane Katrina was approaching, the news caster say that the city hopes that "it's dykes will stem the flow". I totally had a mental image of Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell out ther with tampons stemming the flow.

I am a bad, bad man.

[I notice all further news casts referred to the earthen embankments as "levees".]
