In the morning I take River Rd. to work. It's a busy street that comes from the farm land into Hillsboro. It's 45mph and has a lot of traffic. This morning it still had a lot of traffic but we were only going 15mph, max. It seems some genius has a school bus going (and stopping) on this road. And not stopping once every qurter mile or half mile, which would be reasonable, but EVERY SINGLE BLOCK. That's right, they are stopping traffic in both dir4ection on this major road every single block. A), they couldn't do this one block over and not stop traffic on this road? These poor little waifs couldn't walk more than a block? The world is going to end if they *gasp* cross a street like generations before them have some how managed to successfully do? We're not talking 5 miles, in snow, uphill both ways. One street over is so hard? Put this on a residential street where a bus slowing things up won't matter. But no! They have to find a street where they can line up the cars for over a mile behind the bus. A mile of people who just want to get to work on time. WTF?!?!?!

The next-gen lazer lightshows?

I remembering the fun of Lazer Floyd and Lazer Maiden and it occurred to me that the next generation of these entertainments might be near.

The first step is already here. George Lucas, with his Star Wars movies, introduced a number of theater goers to digital projectors. These behemoths present the opportunity to hook up computers and either have operator controller graphics to go with music or fully automated. Imagine if, you will, donning you 3D glasses, and going on a psychidelic ride to the tunes of just about any band.

The next thing is on a smaller scale, thing kareoke booth sized, with a product that has been out a few years, and will be coming to a mall near you. It's an interactive projection unit. It uses a data project you projects on to a special screen that can sense where the light hits and where it is being blocked. Right now it is being used for marketing purposes, like in a movie theater when it displays on the floor kernels of corn, but as you walk over the kernels they pop into popcorn. Or a wall display where you pass your hand over the image, and the image "wipes away" revealing a new image beneith it. Now take this interactive technology andput it in a small room of friends with music, and let them and the music combine to control the graphics.

Cheese? Yes. A fun way to enjoy a lazer light show type experience without needing a planetarium? Definately.

More peru picture. The people of Peru...

School kids on a field trip to a church that was an Inca temple till the Spanish tore the top off of it and converted it to a church.

All the school, in the city and the country, make their students wear uniforms. You can often tell the school by the color of the uniform.

I'm not a great photographer of people, usually I do landscapes, but I hope I've given an idea of the beauty and variety of people in Peru.
