Verizon is not making a good first impression.

A little recap... We ordered fiber (fiber optic cable from the street to the house, giving us 6mb downloads (coming into the house) and 2mb uploads (being server from the house). A T-1 is just 1.5Mb each way.). They scheduled a time for them to come out and install it. Someone had to stay home all day for a guy to come out and find out a previous engineer decided he couldn't dig the trench for the fiber because it would cross some land we share with our neighbors. They never bothered to tell us or the install engineer who came out to install the router.

The end of that was that they needed permission from our neighbors to dig the trench. So they called back, saying they got permission and they wanted to dig the trench AND install the router on Thursday (yesterday). So once again, someone stays home all day and they don't show. We call up, and it turns out they scheduled an appointment with us even though they didn't have all the permissions they need.

For a communications company, they sure have a lot of miscommunication.

As it stands now, we have no idea when the fiber is going to be installed.

Anyone here use the eMusic service?

A coworker mentioned it and it sound promising, $20/month and that get's you 90 downloads with the files in straight mp3 format. This is far cheaper on a song-by-song basis than iTunes and you don't have to deal with the DRM.

Anyone with experience with this service? Pros? Cons?
