I would coment on this news post (http://news.livejournal.com/99159.html), but the maximum number of comments has already been reached, so I will comment here.

LiveJournal/SixApart did fuck up.

They blindly believed external complaints rather than having faith in their customers. This resulted in accounts being deleted with out the accounts being reviewed for violations. LJ/6A should have demanded that the complaints provide urls to point out the exact violations and then LJ/6A should have review the complaints BEFORE suspending the accounts.

I hope the knucklehead who came up with the "suspend first, ask questions later" policy is looking for new work. THAT would go miles toward me thinking their apology is sincere.

I have FireFox question... Internally we just use ssl certificates we generate ourselves for our internal webpages. But this means everytime I go to a page I get a warning window. Is it possible to turn the behaviour off in FireFox? I look at about:config but didn't see anything obvious. Thanks!
