The bicycle dictatorship?
My coworker, an avid tri-athlete, thinks Seattle should close most streets to cars, relegating car to using the alleys. He thinks that people would embrace converting most streets to being for bicycles only in town and in residential neighborhoods, and that the only reason everyone doesn't bicycle to work is because they don't feel safe on the road with cars.
Is he on crack or do you agree?
Personally, I think he is way under estimating the American love affair with the car.
