Dark Shadows is coming to the big screen! For those that never saw the original TV series, it was like a day time soap opera... With vampires. Seriously.

Add to it that it was of similiar production quality as Dr. Who or other similar BBC productions (though it was not made by the BBC) and you get some mondo cheese.

I'm wondering if they will keep the movie just as serious or if they will mock how the show took it's self far to seriously. Either way I'll have to see it.

I'm also intrigued by Sweeney Todd. It's a musical about a serial killer barber (played by Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton) who ravages Fleet Street in London.

I've decided to fill yesterdays mentioned need for journal games, I am doing a game...

An evil battle of the sexes. Both master of magic and leaders in their own right. Both cruel and underhanded. And both out to get pint size nemesisses. Who would win in a fight, Milificent or Voldemort?

Poll #1032249 Milificent vs Voldemort

The sad state of America's infrastructure:

http://syndicated.livejournal.com/bldgblog_feed/197170.html

Most of our highways were started in the 50's and finished in the 70's with little expansion other than widening of the freeways. But one thing that could reduce the strain on the roads that no one seems to want to do... Expand the rail system. It's stable, has far fewer accidents than the road ways and pound for pound of cargo, is cheaps. And leading the way on environmental consciousness, they were one of the first industries to embrace hybrid technology, as all the locomotives are diesel electric hybrids.

Actually one thing I wish was more common with railways (I've only seen this in Alaska) is the ability to take the train with your car. You drive your vehicle on to a flatbed and then ride in one of the train cars. I would love this on my trips to Portland. Let Amtrak do the driving, then I have transportation once I get there. Sort of like how you can take a ferry from Bellingham, WA clear up to Skagway, Ak (with a few transfers).

One final comment on the bridge collapse. Why is everyone panicking about their local steen and cement bridges. Let's wait till we actually know what caused the collapse, then panic as needed.

After riding to Edmonds yesterday, I've determined that for longer rides, I would like foot pegs foward of the foot area and a little higher up. As it is my feet are too big for the area they are supposed to go in. And I found my self occasionally stretching my legs out in front of me to return circulation to them. It would look ugly as sin, but would be oh-so comfortable.
