A preview of the first etching! I still need to clean it up some, and hopefull find a way to get the pain to stay where it's supposed. Then I'll polish it and put it on a Moleskine.
The issue with the paint is, I sprayed on two coats of primer and sanded it down. then two coats of black pain and sanded it down. The idea was the paint would be undisturbed in the grooves, but be sanded of the higher metal. Sadly, this plan did not work well. But it is a little darked in the grooves, so that might be good enough.
Like I said, it still needs the excess pain cleaned off, and then it needs to be polished, but as you can see, the etching was a success.
