As many of you know, today is Steak And Blow Jobs Day.
There are also two petitions concerning SaBJD on petitiononline.com.
The primary petition has over 3,000 signatures, and is asking for the U.S. Federal Government to recognize it as a real holiday.
I don't want that much. I just want Wikipedia to recognize it as an unofficial holiday. Just like they do for Pi Day.
There are two tactics that could work, but I doubt either one will.
One idea is to have people keep adding it to the March 14 entry and makeing Steak And JB Day entries till the admins finally give up. This will not work because the admins will circle the wagons, lock the entry, and accuse anyone who questions them of being a vandal (with no explanation as to why they are a vandal).
Another idea is to do a petition. Though this will fail also, as people have tried to add this auspicious day a multitude of times and the admins have repeatedly ignored the desires of the public, and squashed it. If they are actively thwarting the will of the people on their own site, why would they even give a cursory glance at the petition?
How far into popular culture does this holiday have insert it's self for it to get equal status with the likes of Pi Day, Blame Someone Else Day, Decemberween, or the rest of their Unofficial Holidays?
So, the question is, with Wikipedia's fickle and arbitrary approach, how does one work their way through Wikipedia's bullheadness and fluctuating standards to get something approved?
