To Chernobyl occurred 21 years ago. And at the bottom of this post is a link for some pictures and recollections of people who lived in the area.

But looking at the pictures, I just have to wonder, what signs are there of the radiation affecting other living things there.

Mind you, the pictures are devoid of burds and mammals, but strangely the plant life seems unaffected. I look at the pictures and I expect to see giant cancerous groths on trees or strange mutant grasses that are either huge or small, or just some visual sign the dna of these plants have been damaged, yet... Nothing. Maybe, like with the trees, their growth is so slow that it sill take more time to see the effects of the radiation.
