This is the view of my office from out in the hall.
The only lighting is the track lighting and the window. SO MUCH BETTER THAN CRAPPY FLUORESCENT LIGHTS!!! I don't care if they save power, fluorescents, when combined with lcd monitors give me head aches, and the color tint is so ugly.
True to my word, I brought the lava lamps in today.
Now I'm toying with putting a wood veneer on walls, and stainning it to look good under the specular lighting. There are some woods of a medium darkness, that the lighter rings glow like gold under lighting like this, and I think that would make the room look pretty classy (compensating for my complete lack of class).
And while not really class, in fact, pretty cheesy, I would relish being able to put a zero clearence electric fire place on the window. Something like this: http://www.electricfireplacesdirect.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=42
It would look like one of those cheese penthouse/loft fire places from 80's movies. But sadly, it is way to expensive for just decorating the office.
It's weird, I'm having fun doing all this stuff for the office, but this is stuff I can't do at home because it's a rental. I think this is a sign it's time to buy a house so I have a play ground of my own to improve.
Okay, I've shown off my work area, let's see yours.
