My yard has a nice size, but it is on a slop. I would like to build a small deck away from the house to put a fire bowl on, and a couple chairs. I'm thinking 10'x10' would be plenty. If I was really abitious, I might even put a roof over part of it so the people sitting out there are out of the sun/rain. This would use cement blocks for the base and be a standard wood deck construction.
Is this something I can just build, or do you need a building permit for something like this?
