So, my 6 cylinder 1997 Dodge Dakota gets a combines fuel rating of 16mpg. I looked at 2009 version of the same truck and... 17mpg. 12 years and only 1mpg improvement?!?!?
Sadly, only one or two models out of all the manufactures could meet the 18mpg requirement with a 6 cylinder engine. It pretty much means if you want a truck that can haul anything, you are out of luck with this program.
Alas, with the house, it's not like I have money run out and buy a new vehicle anyway...
