Are we reaching a point in 35mm based digital SLR's that we are getting more pixels than we can handle or need?
When I was looking at getting a Canon digital SLR and I was trying to decide between the D-30 (3 to 4 mega pixel) and the D-60 (6 megapixel). the D-60 was a lower resolution, but to take advantage of the finer grain, you needed the L-Series lenses. Now Canon's new camera, the D1s has 11 megapixel. Is are the L-Series lenses good enough that when viewed as full size, it will be sharp? Or Kodaks new 14 mexa pixel camera? Are Nikor lenses good enough that the pictures will be sharp at that high of resolution?
Though, I think Canon might have to realign their prices. They are asking $9000 for the D1s, but the Kodak will be $4000. I'm hoping the Canon will realign the prices to about $3000, but we'll see.
