Reading through some old technical books on navigation, I was noticing the expansive vocabulary used to describe things. Many modern books use a far more limited word range and compensate with images. This has me wondering if technology is causing a shift in how people write to a more pictograph oriented language, eventually out moding many specifics in our language?
