Before those of you animal lovers who were not privy to these plans last year get your panties/boxers in a twist, we are hunting with our cameras. We go out, and whoever at the end of the weekend has the best picture to mount on their wall get's bragging rights.
As several of us are students, I was thinking some time between the end of summer term and beginning of winter term. So, if you are interested, try to get me your school schedule so I can accomidate the most "hunters".
I know of a number of good camping areas here in Oregon, but I'm guessing some of the people will be coming from Seattle. So if anyone knows of a good camping/hunting area roughly halfway between Portland and Seattle, please speak up.
I'm also going to try to get a hold of BLM to see what the land use rules are. Most of the places we used to go hunting were on BLM land where people graze cattle. So I don't know if the land is considered private except during hunting season, or if it open to weekend campers year around.
If we can do the BLM thing, the advantages are, it's free, no other people to annoy us, and far more wildlife to see. The disadvantages are, no facilities and very likely rough roads getting there. Also, as things look so far this year, it will be very dry, and open fires will not be allowed anywhere we go.
Anyway, if you are interested, let me know, and I will try to get a date and location hooked up.
